Red Clay Hosts Inaugural District-Wide Student Career Expo
On April 10, Red Clay launched a powerful new tradition with its inaugural district-wide Student Career Expo, hosted at Alexis I. duPont High School. In line with our Strategic Plan's dedication to Career Readiness, the event gathered over 250 students, primarily juniors and seniors from all five Red Clay high schools, for a day filled with exploration, engagement, and opportunity.
Over 40 vendors and employers offered internships, seasonal jobs, training programs, and post-graduate pathways tailored to Red Clay's 24 Career Pathways and the 8 Art Majors at Cab Calloway. Employers and community partners sparked meaningful conversations with students and opened doors to real-world experiences aligned with their academic interests and future goals.
The event, organized by the Work-Based Learning Team, led by Dr. Sonia Galloway, and our Teaching and Learning Department, showcased the district's deep commitment to preparing students for life beyond the classroom. Students had the opportunity to participate in both the Career Fair and the Academic Forum, which simultaneously highlighted the many opportunities Red Clay creates to support well-rounded, future-focused learners.
The future is bright, and Red Clay students are ready.
